- Both bungalows, with multiple living and dining rooms, studies, patios and one-acre grounds.
- Privacy
- The entire property and one-acre grounds are yours. No other guests.
North Bungalow
Up to 7 guests
- Best for
- Smaller families who prefer separate spaces for reading, sitting together and spending time by the fire.
- Bedrooms
- The Dunnottar Suite (king + two singles) and Master Bedroom (king + single). Both ensuite. Three bathrooms in total.
- Living spaces
- The glass-walled Sun Room, library living room with fireplace, skylit study and family dining room.
- Privacy
- Private interiors and separate entrance. Wider grounds may be shared with South Bungalow guests.
South Bungalow
Up to 8 guests
- Best for
- Families and friends who prefer open-plan living and outdoor gathering spaces.
- Bedrooms
- The Rose Library and Old Study (king + single each), and The Boiler Room (two singles). All ensuite. Four bathrooms in total.
- Living spaces
- High-ceilinged living and dining room overlooking the trees towards the lake, South Patio and South Garden Terrace.
- Privacy
- Private interiors and separate entrance. Wider grounds may be shared with North Bungalow guests.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

A few practical details before you send your dates.
Check-in from 2pm. Check-out by 10am. Early arrivals and later departures depend on availability.
Two nights on peak weekends. Three nights when a stay includes a night from 24 December through 1 January. Other dates depend on availability.
Daily breakfast is included. Lunch, dinner and other dining arrangements are optional and charged separately.
A 50% advance confirms your dates. The full amount is due when booking within seven days of arrival.
10% of the accommodation total, collected at or before check-in and returned following the house check at departure.
Cancel at least 30 days ahead for a full refund. Later cancellations receive credit valid for 12 months, subject to peak-date restrictions. Date changes depend on availability.
Sending a date request does not reserve the bungalow or require payment. Our team will confirm the arrangements before you book.

The perfect lakefront villa for our family vacation
Exactly what we wanted - a private villa for my whole family on Kodaikanal Lake. Five ensuite bedrooms, a lush garden, staff to support, cook and help throughout. The kids loved hot pizzas straight from the stone oven, and cycling around the lake, which was right at the doorstep. And a wonderful bonfire area to cozy around and unwind with a glass of wine after kids went to sleep! A peaceful retreat away from the bustling city noise. A luxurious experience yet felt like home. Our second stay, and it's become a second home
Dunnottar carries a very positive and warm vibe. This is our second stay here and it has become like a second home. We will miss the amazing food cooked by Isabelle. The boys do their work quietly and neatly. All the staff are super good, and of course it can't be without mentioning Tiger - he is adorable. The fireplace and pizza experience was super fun. The history of the place and the photographs always fascinates me, and this time we got to hear about it from Shalini. A week's stay at Dunnottar truly creates beautiful memories to carry back home. Thanks a lot Shalini and Bis.
