The Dunnottar Bungalow

We wish to welcome you to The Dunnottar Bungalow, a fully serviced luxury bungalow. We hope you have a comfortable stay.

In order to facilitate the smooth operation of the Bungalow, it is understood that the guests accept our general house rules, terms and conditions set out below.

Bungalow Policy

Check-In / Check-Out

The Check-in time is 2 pm and the check-out time is 10 a.m.

We try and accommodate early Check-ins and late Check-outs subject to availability. You can however drop off your bags in case you arrive early.

Check-ins before 8 a.m. and Check-outs after 5 p.m. will entail a minimum of half day charges.

Payment

Full payment is collected at the time of booking.

All rates are inclusive of GST at 18%

Cancellation & Rebooking Policy

We understand that plans sometimes change.

Cancellations made 60 days or more before check-in: Full refund.

Cancellations made less than 60 days before check-in: Non-refundable. However, the full value of your booking will be held as a credit and applied when you rebook your stay. Credits are valid for 12 months from the original check-in date and cannot be applied to peak season dates (April–May, September, and the Christmas and New Year period) unless availability permits.

No-shows and same-day cancellations: Non-refundable and not eligible for rebooking credit.

Date changes: We are happy to help you move your dates subject to availability. Please contact us as early as possible.

Refunds, where applicable, will be returned to your original payment method within 7 working days. This policy applies to direct bookings only. Bookings made through third-party platforms are subject to that platform’s cancellation terms.

Termination of Stay

The Bungalow management reserves the right to terminate a guest’s stay without notice if behaviour is deemed unacceptable or likely to endanger or cause offence to others. In such cases, any outstanding charges must be settled and no refund will be made.

Car parking

On-site open air car parking is available free of charge for guests staying at the Bungalow.

Cars parked here are at owner’s risk.

No Pets

We do not allow pets.

Wi-Fi

There is free Wi-Fi in the house. The Wi-Fi code will be given during check-in.

Housekeeping

Rooms are serviced between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm.

If you prefer not to have your room cleaned on a particular day, please inform the Manager. Guests are kindly requested not to assign duties directly to housekeeping staff, who work under the direction of the Bungalow Manager.

Breakfast Time

Breakfast is served from 8:00 am to 10:00 am.

Please specify your breakfast time at check-in. The breakfast menu changes daily but typically includes:

• Artisanal Bread and locally sourced condiments

• Seasonal fresh fruit

• Eggs to order

• Coffee and tea

• One South Indian breakfast dish, rotating daily

In-House Cooking & Catering

Cooking in guest rooms is not permitted.

Guests who wish to use the main kitchen are welcome to do so with prior notice and subject to availability. Thirdparty catering and private chefs are not permitted on the property.

Laundry Service

In-house laundry service is available at an additional charge. Dry cleaning can be arranged on request. Please speak with the Manager for details and pricing.

Bed Linen and Towels

As part of our environmental policy we will only change the bed linen between guests or every 5 days, and towels once in 3 days unless guests ask for a towel change or they look unclean.

Non-smoking Premises

Smoking is strictly not permitted inside the house and on the veranda. Smoking is permitted in the garden only. Please use the ashtrays when smoking.Smoking out of the windows is strictly prohibited.

Unregistered Guests

Guests who are not checked-in or registered as guests of The Dunnottar Bungalow are not allowed to sleep or stay overnight in the Bungalow.

Valuables, Security and Storage

Safe-deposit box is available in each of the bedrooms free of charge.

The management is not responsible for lost items. Please lock the doors when you leave.

Although the Bungalow management takes responsible steps to ensure the safety and security of all guests and their possessions, guests retain final responsibility for their own safety and security.

Massages, Private Chefs, and Other Third Party Services

Third party services such as massages, private chefs and catering, and other such activities are strictly not allowed and cannot be organized and conducted within our property.

Bathrooms

Please do not put anything down the toilet except for toilet paper. Please use the bins provided for anything apart from toilet paper and the sanitary napkin bag for sanitary napkins.

Arms and Ammunition

Arms and ammunition are not allowed within the guest house premises.

Respect & Consideration Towards other Guests 

If you have rented Dunnottar North or Dunnottar South, it is possible there may be guests staying in the other wing. Please be mindful not to make undue noise specially during sleeping hours.

Gratuity 

Please do not tip the staff individually. If you do wish to show your appreciation, please drop the tips in the Gratuity box placed on the desk.

Lost Property

We are happy to return items that have been left following departure. However, there will be a minimum charge to cover postage and packaging.

Damage and Loss

All guests are liable for any loss, damage or personal injury they may cause or incur at The Bungalow. The charges for damages will be deducted against your security deposit. If the charges are deemed to be higher than the value of the security deposit, we reserve the right to recover any further charges from you. 

Please take care of the premises. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents.  We do not normally charge for breakages, but we reserve the right to charge for repair or making good if the damage is significant, or for missing items.

 We cannot accept responsibility for your losses within the premises or in the car park Please ensure that you lock your bedroom, the front door and your car.

 If you lose your keys for the front door or your room, you will need to reimburse the cost of replacement. If you accidentally take your keys home with you, please let us know and post it back to us as soon as possible.

Force Majeure

The Bungalow management cannot be held liable for disruptions caused by circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to:

• Interruptions to electricity, water, or sewage services

• Industrial action, civil unrest, or criminal activity

• Fire, flooding, extreme weather, or other force majeure events

• Failure of appliances or equipment

We will always do our best to minimise disruption and discomfort in such circumstances.

Environmental Policy

The owners of The Bungalow are dedicated to the protection of natural resources and would encourage our guests to help us by:

* Switching off lights when not in use;

* Ensuring that taps are always turned off after use;

* Avoiding the unnecessary use of bedsheets, towels – change or use what you need!;

* We will sort the recyclable rubbish collected from guest rooms i.e. paper, plastic, metal  

    and glass;

* We thank you in advance for your comprehension and co-operation.
