All our food is made in our bungalow kitchen with utmost care taken to always use the freshest locally sourced ingredients from Kodaikanal. Our inspiration comes from reflecting the comforts of home cooked South Indian food as well as dishes from beyond home that give us joy. We want Dunnottar to feel like your home too so if there are any special dietary requirements or requests, please let us know and we will be more than happy to accommodate you.

Tiffin

SOUTH INDIAN TIFFIN, WITH TEA OR FILTER COFFEE

₹350 per adult

Full Board includes one tiffin dish of the day with tea or filter coffee. On Half Board or without a dining plan, order it separately. Individual dishes are charged separately.

One South Indian preparation each afternoon, with chutney or sambar as appropriate, and tea or filter coffee.

The kitchen chooses the day’s tiffin from kuzhi paniyaram, masala vadai and bhajji. Ask us what we are cooking that afternoon.

For children aged 5–11 on Half Board, the tiffin add-on is ₹200 per child. Please ask for children’s prices when ordering tiffin without a dining plan.

Dinner

AT THE DINING TABLE OR IN THE GARDEN

From ₹1,050 per adult

Full Board and Half Board include your choice of any of the five complete dinners each evening. Choose one dinner for your group. Without a dining plan, order it separately. Individual dishes are charged separately.

Tell us how many guests are vegetarian and non-vegetarian when you send your choices. For all-vegetarian set dinners, we replace the chicken dishes with vegetarian preparations.

All dining prices are plus 18% GST.

Practical Notes

Dietary requirements

Tell us about allergies and dietary requirements before your stay. The kitchen will confirm what it can prepare. Please send changes to the following day’s dietary requirements or meal times by 6pm the evening before.

Children

Children under five on a dining plan share the family dishes at no charge. Separate dishes ordered for them are charged from this menu. For children ordering complete meals without a dining plan, please confirm the price with us first.

Your dining plan

Plans are arranged for the whole group for the stay. Meals you decide not to take are not refunded. If you plan to eat out, tell us that morning so the kitchen does not prepare an unused meal. Additional orders are added to your bill.

Arrival and departure

For Full Board arrivals after 2pm, the arrival day includes afternoon tiffin and dinner. On departure day, breakfast is included with your stay; lunch is arranged and charged separately.

A bonfire without dinner

Bonfires are ₹1,500 per evening. Food and drinks are ordered separately.

Advance orders

Celebration cakes can be arranged in advance; please ask for availability and a price.
