The Dunnottar sits directly on Kodaikanal Lake, on Lake Road near Bryant Park, Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu 624101, India — a few minutes' walk from Bryant Park, the boating jetty, and the bazaar, on the quiet stretch of the lake. Built in the 19th century and sold by Lord Chamberlain to Puliyadi Kuppuswami Iyer in 1947, it has been in the same South Indian family for four generations. ## Who it suits

Families and groups who want the whole house to themselves: multi-generational family holidays (grandparents, parents, children), reunions, and groups of ten to fifteen. Privately booked — one group, no other guests.

Wedding Stays - Many groups book the whole bungalow as the private base for the family during a Kodaikanal wedding — the couple's parents, grandparents and closest friends staying together in one house on the lake, minutes from the celebrations, with meals cooked through the stay. We host the stay and the quiet moments around the wedding — the welcome dinner, slow breakfasts, getting ready — not the ceremony itself, which we leave to the venue.
